Enjoy this 2-hour guided adventure on a double-deck power catamaran to watch the whales in their natural habitat. Depending on the whales’ behavior during your whale watching trip, you may see the whales slapping the surface with pectoral fins (their very long side fins), flukes (the tail), the peduncle (the strong muscles attaching the tail to the rest of the body) and the breach, this is when the whale rises completely out of the water and crashes down again.

The Hāna Highway is a 64.4-mile long stretch of spectacular views of rainforest, waterfalls, beaches and coastline. On the east after Kalepa Bridge, the highway continues to Kīpahulu on the Piilani Highway. Although Hāna is only about 52 miles from Kahului, it takes about 2.5 hours to drive when no stops are made as the highway is very winding and narrow and passes over 59 bridges, 46 of which are only one lane wide. There are approximately 620 curves along Route 360 from just east of Kahului to Hāna, virtually all of it through lush, tropical rainforest. Pontoon attachments make the kayaks almost impossible to tip and impossible to sink. All tours are small and intimate with only 10 guests per guide. Fun for the whole family. Beginners welcome.

You enter the water and, after a short surface swim, descend on a condemned pier that has transformed into a vibrant reef. Schools of fish surround the wreckage that has accumulated colorful corals and sponges.

Turtles swim all around in organized chaos as you search for camouflaged frogfish, making it hard to decide where to look. You follow your instructor as they lead you through the obstacle course of the wreck, swimming under and through the old dock where you spot a pregnant reef shark resting under a section of cement and pause to admire her beauty. As you make your way back to your starting point you focus on the multitude of turtles that gracefully soar through the clear water.

Escape from the crowded tourist areas for a private, 90-minute surf lesson for two near Lahaina, Maui. Choose from an early-, mid-, or late-morning time frame. This surf session will focus on water safety, proper surf technique, surfing style, and etiquette. The experienced, professional instructor guarantees students will stand up, catch a wave, and leave the beach as a certified surfer. Private Surf Lesson for Two Near Lahaina

In the morning, the guide will lead you on a leisurely paddle through Makena Bay along its beautiful coastline with views of Molokini and Haleakala Volcano. Take the opportunity to snorkel over colorful reefs and, in Turtle Town, with Hawaii’s endangered green sea turtles and a variety of colorful marine life. Don’t be surprised if you spot dolphins or, during whale season, possibly encounter humpback whales. This 2.5-hour snorkel and kayak adventure is for ages 5 years and up, for beginners and pros. There is a maximum group size of 10 people and it will be provided bottled water.
